Sculptra®

Sculptra® is a simple, injectable volumising treatment that works by stimulating the build up of the bodys natural collagen to help smooth out lines and wrinkles. It also helps to restore lost facial volume to give you a fuller, younger-looking face. The enhancement is long lasting and looks completely natural.

What happens during treatment?

Sculptra® is injected into the deep dermis of subcutaneous skin layers in a number of injection sites over the treatment area. These injections may cause some mild discomfort, this is minimised with the use of local anaesthetic (lidocaine®) mixed within the Sculptra® vial. The treatment can take up to 20 minutes to complete.

What can be expected after treatment?

Redness and slight oedema often result from the procedure, this normally resolves within 2-6 days. Subtle bruising from the area can occur which may take a week to disappear. The results can take several weeks to be visible as the treatment involves stimulation of the body’s own collagen to produce the desired results.

How long do the effects last?

Clients normally require a course of 3 treatments with a 6 week period between each session. Between 3 to 5 vials is needed over the complete 3 treatment period. The number of vials used depends on the area/s treated and the condition of the skin/loss of volume.

The effects have been show to continue working up to 12-18 months after the treatment. It is recommended that a 12 month top-up is done to maintain the results. The top-up normally only requires a single vial not a complete treatment course.
