Sculptura™
What is Sculptura™

Sculptura™ is an injectable Poly-L-Lactic Acid used to restore volume for wrinkles and contour defects. The Poly-L-Lactic acid in Sculptura™ is a biocompatible and biodegradable. It is synthetically produced and allergy testing is not required.

Sculptura™ is suitable for :-
  • Replacing lost volume caused by aging
  • Deep folds and wrinkles
  • Scars
  • Volume defects
  • Contour enhancements
  • Lipoatrophy

How does Sculptura™ work?

This can be divided into 3 stages:-
  1. The target area/s are injected with Sculptura™ giving an immediate volumising effect filling out any wrinkles and volume defects.
  2. Within a few days the body absorbs the water in Sculptura™ with a slight increase in wrinkle depth.
  3. Eventually a process of natural, soft build-up of connective tissue, smoothing out wrinkles and contour defects occurs. This process can take from a matter of a few weeks to months.

What happens during and after treatment?

Sculptura™ is injected into the deep dermis of subcutaneous skin layers in a number of injection sites over the treatment area. These injections may cause some mild discomfort, this is minimised with the use of local anaesthetic (lidocaine®) mixed within the Sculptura ™ vial.

The treatment can take up to 20 minutes to complete. Redness and slight oedema often result from the procedure, this normally resolves within 2-6 days.

Clients normally require a course of 3 treatments with a 6 week period between each session. The charge for the treatment is dependent on the number of vials used, clients normally require a course of 3 to 5 vials over the complete 3 treatment period. The number of vials used depends on the area/s treated and the condition of the skin.
